There is a strange trend I’ve noticed recently: some authors and media removing the dates from their posts. As an active participant on the social web since the 90s, this not only bothers me, it is two-steps backwards.
You can’t make this stuff up. A few days ago an Applebee’s server posted the above receipt to Reddit. A rude and inappropriate response from what I would classify as a very selfish restaurant goer.
So you think you’re super original, copy-pasting content from Reddit into other platforms. Yeah, you’re not. Reddit is not some secret site, it has millions of users. Many of the people who do this (see: those who copy-paste a headline another user came up with) look ridiculous.
With the advent of macro social platforms, I see more and more people spending time giving their ideas (in full) to sites they don’t own. In tandem, the companies running them are being compensated for your ideas and passion, mostly by running ads next to them.
