I’ve been drafting vs. posts for quite some time on a variety of subjects. Today, I thought it would be fun to talk about brands who are mature in social vs. those who are immature.

Well I’ve been on a tear lately sharing examples of bad marketing. It’s hard not to do this when people keep lobbing them at me. But blatant SEO / social media spam? From a major B2B company that should definitely know better? How can we not share?

There’s an unstated elegance about focusing on less in your marketing and PR. In fact, over time my most successful blogs, clients, and digital marketing programs were ones where we refined efforts over time to do more of less. We discovered what worked, found a formula and dialed it up and relentlessly removed the fluff.

As of late, Reddit has been my favorite online community.  It has a similar feeling to the forums I frequented in the late 90′s and early 00′s.  Which having contributed more than 20,000 posts as both community member and  moderator of music, tech and gaming boards growing up — I have a soft spot for.
