The Future Buzz Is Now iPhone/Android/Kindle Friendly

Of the last 100,000 visitors to The Future Buzz, 2,145 – or around 2.14% were using iPhones, iPod touches or Android devices. So in an effort to make things easier for readers on the go, today I have done two things:

1) Installed the WP Touch plugin

The guys at Brave New Code made a slick little plugin which auto-detects if users are browsing via an iPhone, iPod Touch or Android powered device and serves a beautiful mobile version. It’s simple to install and makes any Wordpress powered blog look clean on leading mobile platforms. Fire up The Future Buzz in your iPhone to have a look, you’ll get something like this (I’ll work on customizing it further in the future, lots of neat options in the plugin):

Case Study Of TheFutureBuzz.com: Analytics, Trends And Insights


For a while, I’ve been wanting to write an analytics post to share observations on traffic streams to provide insights to both marketers and bloggers. While I would love to share metrics and campaign successes from client sites, obviously permission is an issue there.

But since The Future Buzz is my own ongoing project for helping you create buzz, I thought I would take you through a few insights on some web analytics from this site for you to learn from. Plus it’s always interesting to look at someone else’s site metrics.

The Future Buzz Finally Gets A New Design (And A Quick Update)

Due to recently spending some time editing a few of my other sites, I came to the conclusion that I was overdue to get a fresh look here. Email and RSS users, if you’d like to see the new design, click though to check it out.

After carefully looking at my old theme, I decided to go for something simple, as the more I thought about it the more I realized my sidebar was simply presenting too much content. Less is definitely more, and I already like the look of things here better. The old theme (thanks Daniel at DailyBlogTips) served me well for about a year, but it definitely was time for something new.
