You, the readers here, are brilliant. You inspire me and keep me thinking. And while I haven’t responded to all of the ~3,000 comments left here over the years, I do read all of them. Which is why today’s post isn’t my thoughts – it’s yours. Following are 10 smart, thought-provoking comments from this community I pulled out of recent threads for your Friday inspiration:

Robert Greene’s 50th Law, which says, in essence, to fear nothing is a concept most struggle with.  Not Hunter S. Thompson – at least in the context of applying for a job with the Vancouver Sun.  Seeking a new job, Thompson decided to pen the following letter to the new Sun editorial director as his application.  Worth reading and far better than the average job application letter (hat tip to the Sun for sharing this).

Not everything is new (or even true) on the Internet, we know this. Yet still, yesterday TheChive.com – a site which if you clicked around you’d realize was not the most trustworthy – ran a story that suckered the whole internet. A few people called it out for being fake initially, but even less picked up on the fact that the concept behind it (a stream of pictures with someone holding a white board) was not even an original idea.
