Over, and over, professors stress, and quiz, our writing skills. Often times I wonder if they are simply being pains or if they skills they work so hard to drill into us will actually be used post-graduation. There is nothing and then there is nothing. I have three simple tricks.
One, imagine a few readers of varying tastes, it is best if they are people you actually know and write for them.
Two, Find three blogs from writers who you know and love and read them. Get their voice in your head, their style and form and interpret it as your own.
Three, Wait until the next morning before proofreading with fresh eyes.
