Instead of a blog post, I decided to create a quick presentation on how (and why) to create remarkable digital content. These ideas are likely not new to some of you, however I still felt the need to create something to serve as a primer on content marketing (specifically, social content). This should be helpful to those who are new, struggling to get results, or just looking for some inspiration.
Hope you find this one interesting – be sure to view full screen so you can read everything:

Like you said up front, not a ton of new ideas, but your use of concise, useful, and sometimes funny slides kept me engaged with the presentation throughout all slides.
Nice quote from the 48 Laws of Power too. Your 10 tips for content strategy development is clearly influenced from the book ;)
Well done!!

Thanks – and yes, Robert’s laws provide a great base for many types of strategy development.

I really enjoyed this. It’s very difficult persuading the C suite that content marketing matters sometimes. You should make this available as an Ebook so people can hand this to their managers !
I like the storytelling aspect of this too. Pure content marketing itself!

Glad you enjoyed this Jon – I thought about making an Ebook – but they’re not as interesting. No rules say managers can’t click through a deck.

First thanks for mentioning me in the slideshow.
More importantly. Wow! Great job with the slideshow. I was having this very debate with someone on a forum last week. Trying to get him to see how important it is to continuously update content on your site. And of course now I have to link to this post so he can see. Guess that further proves your point on content marketing.

Thanks for providing a great example Steven, you “walk the talk” with content marketing, only natural you get included.

Adam, great post and appreciate you supporting this important dialogue on content. I agree with you that it is critical to one’s success. Curious about your perspectives on content for ecommerce sites. I believe it’s crucial because it not only offers a great service to have relevant and interesting content, but when deployed well and involves the consumer, can create valuable dialogues for customer and brand (which ultimately helps fuel the business).

Content for ecommerce sites is definitely an opportunity in and of itself. That’s worth exploring in a future post.
