This was a great post on the different social media outlets and how to develop a well-thought out strategy for marking to audiences. As a PR student, this is very helpful to think about and help create an online-strategy. The facts you used are very interesting and show how relevant social media is today, especially in the field of marketing and PR. I think that you are exactly right when you say that many people immediately jump to the step of implementing tools and tactics. It is very important to research and know your audience first before you can start putting those tactics into place. It was a very good point too that it is necessary to track these social media outlets and see which ones are relevant today because they are constantly shifting and changing. This information was very helpful and you laid out the steps and the process very well! Thanks for the strategy guidelines. Great post!

Excellent job Adam.

Very information-rich without overloading the reader. Simple to understand yet there is enough meat there to chew on for weeks. Definitely worthy of many a retweet.

Hi Adam,

Can you clarify this point:
"Create a social media keyword glossary of popular social terms, cross reference with your search keyword glossary."

Are you talking about having some kind of glossary on your site or about ensuring that content produced targets selected terms / keywords?
