NLP is a powerful tool for anyone in absolutely any walk of life, be it internet marketing or any offline business. The basic concept (to me anyway) is understanding human behaviour, listening and observing and then displaying empathy with an individual. Also, visualisation of ones goals is as old as time and almost every single book I have read by successful entrepreneurs displays this key characteristic in addition to the ones I have mentioned already so there is no doubt in my mind, NLP works and works well.

@Steven - this post was definitely meant as an introduction and perhaps inspiration for readers to seek out more information. Agreed 100%, there are lots of potential areas to get into this deeper in the future.

Definitely interesting stuff Adam. I can't claim to now much about NLP, but I'm always looking toward psychology and sociology in order to better understand marketing, blogging, and design.
If you're up for it, a post fleshing out the ideas of reframing would make for an interesting and useful read.

@Bart Gragg - that's worth discussing further (how people learn). I may aggregate some research on that, consider it added it to my draft list of topics, thanks.
Also, glad you found this interesting, I plan to share more of the theories/books/blogs in the vein of psychology/sociology that have marketing and communication application. There are definite intersections here worth exploring.
