I believe the industry needs innovation and sociability to thrive yet I also believe that focus groups also have their place. What is wrong with a combination of techniques and methodologies?

		<description>It makes it more fun when you blur the line between customer and provider in retail.
We try to do that when possible (and should do it more) in my wine business. I sometimes ask groups of consumers to taste wine samples with me and decide whether or not to import them, for instance.

		<description>I&#039;m definitely a fan of this notion.  A lot more can be accomplished by actually doing than thinking about doing. Try your ideas out on real people in real situations and adapt from there.
The barriers are so low these days, there&#039;s little reason not to just do.</description>
