I know everyone stresses content, but most things that go viral are completely silly and content is irrelevant. How many funny youtube videos have hit it big and are just short and funny? It can be a big deal of both. Good tips on approaching to create viral content, but it's impossible to fully make happen. That's the same as saying every catchy song will go #1. So many different viral videos/content, etc that are out there that have potential and there is no clear cut answer to why most things go viral. Sometimes it's just about reaching the right incluencer, sometimes just good timing.

@Michele - yes, patience is huge! the long tail is powerful and can whip up enough of a storm over time to give you the leverage you need...
thanks for the compliment btw
Also just a quick addition to the conversation - creating things that spread is fun (and addictive) but should be balanced with an organic growth strategy. Not everything should be (nor will be) viral.

@Debt-free College - I could post that, but they are specific for the brand that is trying to create the content. Stories are unique to each business and reflect internal and external culture, as well as playing off memes and sticky ideas. It's an idea though to write on that from a general perspective, thanks.
@Justin Johnson - no problem at all, glad you found this useful.
