I agree. Organic traffic has the most “staying power”. While having a stream of visitors is nice, I really enjoy having traffic of people who really want to “be there” as opposed to those who have been somehow “tricked” into visiting. Really good points about social media. I haven’t had the same good fortune as you to be featured on Digg, but I have had my share of social media success. I’ve noticed mostly the same as you.

Sure there’s a spike in traffic and sometimes there’s even a few more new subscribers than usual, but nothing so special.

What’s more important to me is that the subscribers I do have come back again and again and stay subscribed. The growth is sometimes slower than I’d like, but the growth is always consistent.
