Two Incredibly Inspiring Lectures
I’m a fan of continued education after college, and enjoy lectures on not only marketing and business, but also motivation and inspiration. Here are two particularly compelling videos that are extremely impactful:
1) Carnegie Mellon Professor Randy Pausch, who is dying from pancreatic cancer, gave his last lecture at the university
Click here to watch. I only wish I had the fortune to have him as a professor in college. He is an extraordinary person and his story is amazing. It is unfortunate he will be leaving this world so soon.
2) Psychologist Dan Gilbert challenges the idea that we’ll be miserable if we don’t get what we want. Our “psychological immune system” lets us feel real, enduring happiness, he says, even when things don’t go as planned. He calls this kind of happiness “synthetic happiness,” and he says it’s “every bit as real and enduring as the kind of happiness you stumble upon when you get exactly what you were aiming for.” Click here to watch
